One of the new EU General Safety Regulation requirements is that larger vehicles must have a driver drowsiness detection system.
Without this they cannot sell vehicles.
What did we do?
Customer Need
- Implement a driver drowsiness algorithm in a suitable ECU within 3 months.
Root Cause
- New legislation.
Solution
- Embed used one of their off-the-shelf hardware platforms to host a 3rd party driver drowsiness algorithm and integrate it within the client’s vehicle. Resulting in the client testing and calibrating the algorithm very quickly.
- Embed then modified the software platform to meet the OEM specific bootloader and diagnostics requirements. This ensures the ECU is properly integrated product that can be supported with the OEM aftermarket tools.
